Civic Improvement Commission Poster Contest
Entries Now Being Accepted from All Campbell Fifth Graders. Campbell, California – Today, the Civic Improvement Commission (CIC) announced the opening of its annual Student Poster Contest. With the theme, “Discover Campbell Library”, participants are asked to creatively display what the Campbell Library has to offer and what its being, means to them.

County Office of Women's Policy Now Accepting Nominations
The City of Campbell is again partnering with the Santa Clara County Office of Women’s Policy in promoting their recognition program called “Campbell Women of Distinction Awards for 2012” in conjunction with Women’s History Month this coming March.

The award program’s purpose is to recognize women of all ages who have made special contributions in the Campbell community. Nominations are due on Friday, February 17, 2012.

Stojanovich Family Park Grand Opening
The Grand Opening of the Stojanovich Family Park, located at 316 Union Avenue, took place at the park at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 1st, 2011.

Stojanovich Family Park, a 1.3 acre park located on Union Avenue, has been under construction since July 2011. The newly renovated park now boasts a plaza area, pedestrian walkway and bridge, and child play areas.

Campbell Promotional Videos
The City of Campbell is working with CGI Communications to create a set of promotional videos for the City of Campbell. The video clips will highlight Campbell’s neighborhoods, businesses, amenities, and way of life. To watch sample video clips from other communities, go to the Mayor's TV website.

The clips will be delivered through a community website that will serve as a hub of information for both current residents and those looking to relocate. The videos should become available in a few months.

Cambrian No. 36 Pocket Annexation
The City of Campbell is currently processing an annexation of the Cambrian No. 36 County pocket and a detachment of a portion of land within the City of San Jose that would also be annexed into Campbell. Information relative to this project can be found on the following webpage link.

CrimeReports
The Police Department is excited to announce that our crime data is now accessible on-line through CrimeReports.com. We recently partnered with CrimeReports, creators of the National Crime Map, to give members of the public access to a comprehensive map of crime in the community.

Working with nearly 800 law enforcement agencies across North America, including almost all of the agencies in Santa Clara County, CrimeReports is the largest and most accurate online resource for up-to-date crime information. CrimeReports offers community members free email crime alerts, sex offender information, and the most comprehensive public crime mapping service on the web.

The CrimeReports service is free to the public and is newly available as a free iPhone app, so citizens can be aware of crime around them while on the go. For more information about CrimeReports: www.CrimeReports.com.

Coyote Information from County Vector Control
In Campbell over the past several months, there have been sporadic sightings of coyotes which are both predators as well as scavengers. By exercising some simple precautions, residents can minimize the risk of losing their pets to these wild animals. Santa Clara County Vector Control has compiled information to help educate residents on the hazards of contact with these animals as well as provide valuable information to minimize the risks of attracting coyotes to their neighborhoods. Bascom Avenue and Campbell Avenue Street Resurfacing Projects
The City of Campbell is proud to inform you that two recent Annual Street Maintenance Resurfacing Projects were partially funded by the 2009/2010 Targeted Rubberized Asphalt Concrete Incentive Grant Program, a grant from the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle).

The City of Campbell is continually looking to provide innovative services that increase accessibility to our community, while reducing costs and helping keep Campbell a “Green” city. E-services provide a secure and environment-friendly option for registering for classes, purchasing tickets, paying for some permits and staying current with what is taking place in our community.
The E-Services page gives you “one-click” access to our electronic services making it easier to do business with the City, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, without having to come to City Hall. We hope you find this new service helpful and convenient.

City of Campbell Local Hazard Mitigation Plan 2011 Update Available for Public Review and Comment
The City of Campbell has participated with Santa Clara County in updating its Local Hazard Mitigation Plan. This plan is an annex to the ABAG regional Hazard Mitigation Plan (see link below). The public review draft of the Santa Clara County Local Hazard Mitigation Plan 2011 Update and City of Campbell Annex are now available for comment. Your comments and questions may be directed to the County's consultant: Corinne Bartshire at 415-295-7116 or cbartshire@dewberry.com.

Hazard Mitigation Plan Review Draft

With a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Santa Clara County Office of Emergency Services has coordinated with the incorporated cities to develop this update. The planning process has involved thirteen incorporated cities, the Santa Clara Valley Water District, and major employers in Silicon Valley. The 2011 updated local hazard mitigation plan is an annex to the regional plan titled "Taming Natural Disasters: Multi-Jurisdictional Local Hazard Mitigation Plan for the San Francisco Bay Area" which may be viewed at: http://quake.abag.ca.gov/mitigation/.
